St. Jude Running for a Cure at Avery Island

On November 2, St. Jude will host a run for the cure to childhood diseases at Avery Island.

The run will consist of a 7K Trail Run, 5K Run & 1 Mile Fun Run through the scenic Jungle Gardens.

After the race, organizers invite runners to stay for a picnic and entertainment and explore the gardens. Registration for the race will also provide runners with entry to the gardens for the day.

Runners can also head over to the McIlhenny Factory to see how Tabasco products are made.

The fee to register for the 5K and 7K is $35.

Registration for the 1 Mile Fun Run is $25.

All proceeds will go towards the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital for the treatment and cure of childhood diseases.

Organizers say that runner packets can be picked up at Geaux Run in Lafayette located 906 Harding Street beginning November 1st from 11 am - 6 pm.

Packets can also be picked up Saturday, November 2 at the race site.

Several awards will be given out at the end of the race including Top Overall Male and Female, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd place for male and female in each age group for 5K & 7K.
