Wednesday is the 29th annual Realtor's Association Gumbo Cook Off, and it is expected to be the perfect gumbo weather for the event at Parc International in Downtown Lafayette.
26 teams are competing in this year's game show themed event.
Guests will pay $10 and can try as many bowls of gumbo as they can. The will be gumbos will fall into two categories, meat and seafood.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Lane's Legacy, Maddie's Footprints and Habitat for Humanity.
Louisiana Red will perform and the dance floor will be open so event goers can work up an appetite.
Gates open at 5 pm.
Organizers say the event is a family affair. Kids can dress up in their Halloween costumes to take part in a Halloween Costume Contest happening at 6:30 pm.
