A brand new parade will make its debut Friday night at Cajun Field.
It's all part of the opening night festivities at Le Festival de Mardi Gras.
For the first time, the fair grounds will be the site of a brand new Friday Night Parade in Lafayette.
The Jeep and Truck parade rolls at 7:30 at Cajun Field. Before and after the parade, musical acts will take to the main stage to entertain fair goers.
And even the Festival has a brand new look this year.
Fans of the Mardi Gras season can head out to enjoy the fair when it opens at 5:00 pm on Friday, February 21.
All of the proceeds from the parade go towards the American Lung Association and Focus Club House.
And the fair isn't just for fun, organizers say it helps support future Mardi Gras festivities in the Lafayette area.
Games, rides, and fair food will be available until Tuesday. Dates and times for the festival can be found below.
- Friday, February 21 from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm
- Saturday, February 22 from Noon to 11:00 pm
- Sunday, February 23 from Noon to 11:00 pm
- Monday, February 24 from Noon to 11:00 pm
- Tuesday, February 25 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm
