Posted at 5:43 AM, May 25, 2020

Starting at 9:00 a.m Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette will host an annual Memorial Day service, featuring Veteran Honor Guards, a guest speaker, and patriotic music selections.

In Church Point, the American Legion is honoring 21 soldiers from the town who sacrificed their lives in service to this country.

Their names will be on display again today at the depot from sunrise to sunset. A Memorial Day closing ceremony is set for tonight at 6.

In Crowley, plans are still in place for a community Memorial Day program. That event will begin at 10 a.m. in the northwest corner of Levy Park.

Organizers hope to read the names of the 60 plus service men and women from Crowley who were killed or died while serving their country. Chairs will be spaced out to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
