A Lafayette Little League team returned home champions after competing in the Louisiana Little League State Tournament over the weekend.

The team, known as the "Dirt Bags," traveled to Sterlington, Louisiana for the competition.

The Dirt Bags won all five of their games scoring a total of 79 runs. This is the third year in a row that the team has taken home the championship title.

Almost as impressive as their scoring runs, the "Dirt Bags" drank nearly 250 bottles of water over the course of the weekend.

The team says the heat was brutal, but it couldn't stop them from making this year a "three-peat."
