Friday, July 12 marks the final hours for residents to prepare before Tropical Storm Barry arrives in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 13. Hurricane warnings are already in effect along the Louisiana coast from Intracoastal City to Grand Isle.
Abby Breidenbach was LIVE in Cypremort Point Friday morning where many residents have already executed their storm plans.
Friday morning winds were beginning to pick up in Cypremort Point as Tropical Storm Barry neared the Louisiana coast.
Many residents in "The Point" have tied down what they can and have loaded up the rest, ready to leave before the storm makes landfall. The hope is that damage won't be as bad as what they've seen in the past.
Cypremort Point camp owner Elizabeth Abdalla says that prior storms have brought everything from mud to fish into their camp. "One storm we had to remodel and we pulled the paneling out on the bottom floor and their were fish and all kinds of things in there that we didn't expect."
