The City of Franklin will celebrate its bicentennial in 2020 with a kickoff party on New Year's Eve.

City Communications Director Ed "Tiger" Verdin stopped by GMA to share more on the end of the year festivities.

The party gets underway at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse Square at 6:00 pm on December 31.

Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy live music from Johnny Chauvin and the Mojo Band, Cupid and the Dance Party Express, and DJ Fab.

The City will call in the New Year with the lowering of one of their iconic lamp posts from the Parish Courthouse.

City Communications Director Tiger Verdin says that the celebration will include the largest fireworks display that St. Mary Parish has ever seen.
