LAFAYETTE — Ed "Tiger" Verdin stopped by the studio this morning to share some updates on the second annual Bikers on the Bayou Festival which was originally scheduled for this Saturday.

The annual celebration has been rescheduled due to the tropical weather predicted for the weekend, but the show will go on no matter what! This year's Bikers on the Bayou has been moved to August 24th.

Bikers on the Bayou is a festival that commemorates and celebrates the movie "Easy Rider" being filmed throughout St. Mary Parish with Franklin being a main ride in the cult classic film. The movie does a fantastic job of showcasing the beauty of Louisiana and Acadiana. This year, the Easy Rider movie is celebrating it's 50th anniversary having been released on July 14, 1969.

On August 24th at 9:00 am, there will be a kick off ceremony in downtown Franklin! Main St. will be shut down to host the festival's car show, showcase bands and bikes! The event will also have photography, food, spirits, and many various activities!

Bikers will also be making the movie's iconic ride starting in Morgan City and trailing to the festival in Franklin. The Easy Rider movie will also be screening twice that day at the Teche Theatre for the Performing Arts!
