Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana will host their biggest fundraiser of the year on Saturday, May 18.
KATC’s Abby Breidenbach was LIVE with Kalli Christ, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters, who shared more on the upcoming event.
The Wine Women & Shoes event is an afternoon of enjoyment filled with wine sipping and shopping. The event is happening at La Pavilion on Kaliste Saloom Rd in Lafayette from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
The afternoon begins with a marketplace where local and national vendors will be set up to allow for shopping the latest trends in fashion and accessories. Christ says that 20 percent of sales from those vendors will return to BBBS.
There will also be a silent auction and “Key to the Closet” raffle with a “treasure-trove of goodies any woman would want” valued at $15,000. Only 100 tickets are available for purchase in the raffle.
Christ says that wine will be available for tasting during the event. “Shoe Guys” will also be on hand to pamper women throughout the event.
The “Shoe Guys” are also raising fund for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana. Twenty-five guys are participating and funds can be donated to your favorite guy on the Wine, Women & Shoes Acadiana Facebook page. The shoe guy who gets the most donated will be crowned “King of Sole.”
The second half of the evening includes a seated portion with a fashion show, live auction, entertainment from the shoe guys and food. Christ shares more on what to expect in the video below.
All the funds from the event will go towards Big Brother Big Sisters of Acadiana’s work to match kids in the community with adult mentors and role models. Donations can also be made to BBBS for SOLA Giving Day at solagivingday.org.
