Patrick Hardy with Lafayette’s Zydeco Marathon sat in with Katie Lopez on GMA this morning to share news on the 6th annual event.
Zydeco Marathon & 1/2 is a full and half marathon running event held in Lafayette, Louisiana. Zydeco Marathon combines a fun, safe, and memorable run with our Finish Line Festival, bringing all that Lafayette is known for straight to you after your run.
The 6th Annual Zydeco Marathon, Half, and Relay is officially the Lafayette General Zydeco Marathon.The race starts at 7 am on March 10, in Downtown Lafayette, and will host more than 2,000 runners dashing through the heart of the city.
Whether you run the full marathon, half-marathon, or share the full or half with a relay, all registrants can sign up for the charity running program. Proceeds will go to Lafayette General Foundation’s Sports Performance Network.
After the race, the Finish Line Festival starts. Bands will be playing, and there’s plenty to eat and drink for anyone who’d like to celebrate at Parc International! Over 50% of the runners are from outside of Lafayette, so we encourage the city to come out and cheer them on with a Porch Party.
