Krewe de Canailles will step off tonight in Downtown Lafayette.

The krewe and their many costumed members will hit the streets of Downtown Lafayette tonight, Friday, February 22 to kick-off the Mardi Gras season.

KATC’s Abby Breidenbach was LIVE this morning with krewe organizers with more details on this year’s parade.

This is the second year for the “Parade Without Barricades.” The fun begins at 7:00 pm and members say they are ready to party with Lafayette.

The theme for this year’s parade is “Louisiana Folklore.”

The parade will start at the Rosa Parks Transportation Center and make its way down Jefferson Street before turning onto Vermilion, Lee, and Garfield Streets Downtown. The parade will finish at Warehouse 535 where members will host an after party.
