Festivities continue as UL Lafayette’s Homecoming game nears

We are less than 36 hours away from kick off of the Ragin’ Cajuns game against the New Mexico State Aggies. But you don’t have to wait that long to enjoy homecoming festivities.

Scott Brazda was LIVE at Cajun Field with more on the list of homecoming events.

FRIDAY

On Friday, Ragin Cajun fans can get in on the homecoming fun with the Tennis Tournament at Red Lerille’s beginning at 8:00 am.

From 5:30 to 8:30 pm, participate in the “Wear Red Homecoming Party” at Festivals Acadiens et Creoles in Girard Park.

The Ragin’ Cajun Soccer team will take on Little Rock Trojans beginning at 5:00 pm. Admission is free for those wishing to attend.

SATURDAY

The big game begins on Saturday, October 13 at 4:00 pm but the festivities have been going on all week to celebrate. Leading up to kick off on Saturday, Ragin’ Cajun fans can begin their day with the Homecoming Parade at 10:00 am. The parade will roll down Johnston St. and St. Mary Blvd from Blackham Coliseum and ending near the Alumni Center on Campus.

The annual Zydeco Brunch will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Student Union’s Cypress Lake Dining Hall.

Of course, tailgating will be happening all day at Cajun Field. Fans can catch a glimpse of their team during the Cajun Walk down Reinhart Drive beginning at 1:30 pm. The Pride of Acadiana will make their way down Stadium Way at 3:00 pm.

No matter when or where you celebrate homecoming, be sure to sport your Vermilion and White. The RED ZONE will be open at 10:00 am today and tomorrow at Blackham Coliseum and Russo Park during tailgating as well as during the game at their trailer located inside Cajun Field.
