Today, Erath will celebrate Independence Day with the final day of the 82nd Annual 4th of July Celebration in downtown Erath. The five-day festival which began on Saturday, June 30 is one of the longest Independence Day Festivals in the state.

KATC’s Katie Lopez was LIVE this morning with a preview of events.

The final day of celebration kicks-off with the 18th annual Fun Run which includes a 5K Run and one-mile walk. That begins at 7:30 am.

Area fire departments will compete against each other in the much-anticipated part of the celebration, water fights! The competition begins at 9:00 am.

Carnival rides begin at 1:00 pm with a parade beginning at 5:00 pm.

The finale, a "giant" fireworks display, will light up the skies of Erath at 9:00 pm.

Organizers say that ice chests, outside food and beverages, and pets are not allowed on festival grounds. For more information visit erath4.com
