What started in Texas is starting to spread. It has even made it’s way to Acadiana with the help of a local officer.

A lip-sync challenge has gotten officers across the country blasting their favorite pop songs and posting those videos to social media.

According to ABC News, the challenge started with deputy Alexander Mena in Bexar County, Texas. The deputy said that he’d been doing lip-sync videos on Snapchat for a while, but when he passed one video along to a sergeant who got the video onto the department’s social media, things went viral.

Other officers around the state and country are getting in on the friendly competition posting their own videos to social media.

Right here in Acadiana, Crowley Police Officer Landun Primeaux shared his own video on social media. In the video, Primeaux lip-syncs Vanessa Carlton’s "A Thousand Miles." The post has been shared over 4,000 times.

In his post, Primeaux uses the hashtags #lipsyncbattle, #callingout, and #AcadiaParishSO to call out the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office. The question now is, will they respond to the challenge.
