Jacques Rodrigue from the George Rodrigue Foundation joined GMA this morning to share what the foundation has been up to recently and how Festival-goers can get a taste of Cajun culture and cuisine at Festival International.

The Foundation continues to share Rodrigues story with the community and country through his art and continue to support the arts for youth in schools and arts programs. The Foundation says that art programs in schools have proven beneficial in elevating student test scores and overall student success.

Despite the rumors of being closed for good, Blue Dog Café in Lafayette is still going strong and recently introduced a brand new menu. The revamped selection includes healthier options, according to Rodrigue, while keeping around a few Cajun classics. The new menu was created by Chef Ryan Trahan. The restaurant’s second location in Lake Charles has also seen a healthier change in their menu.

The restaurant will also play host to several bands this week during Festival International. The Foundation has a booth set up alongside the Fais Do Do stage in Downtown Lafayette and will be serving several of Blue Dog Café’s signature items like crawfish enchiladas, Corn and Crab Bisque, and bread pudding.
