The Lafayette Parks and Recreation and UL Lafayette will be hosting their 6th Annual Therapeutic Recreation Prom.
The Prom is a special needs prom that will be available for those 16 years of age and older. The project is a coordinated event being put on by students from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
The event entitled "A Night on the Bayou" was created as a way for those in the special needs community to come together and shine at their own prom night event.
The Prom will be held on Saturday, April 21 at the Heymann Recreation Center in Lafayette.
Reservations can be made by going to LafayetteLA.gov. The ticket forms are available on the webpage and organizers say that teachers of special needs students have received forms for students to attend.
