Friends of the Humanities will host Bluegrass on the Bayou on Sunday, April 15 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Madison in Broussard.

The event will feature Bluegrass music from Vermilion Express and food in the form of a whole roasted pig and other barbeque items.

A silent auction will also be held. Tickets for the event are $75. Those interested can donate to become a patron of the humanities for $125 and receive special seating at the event. Sponsorship opportunities are also available online.

Funds raised will go to support UL Lafayette Humanities Disciplines in the form of grants. The Friends of the Humanities says that they have contributed close to $500,000 to the humanities since 1989, a contribution they say is important in order to keep the study of cultures alive for all university students.
