The St. Landry Parish Crime Stoppers is asking for help from the public in solving three vehicle burglaries in the Opelousas area.

Between the dates of July 25 and the 29, St. Landry Parish deputies responded to three separate breakins of vehicles. The burglaries occurred in the 300 block of Suzanne Dejean Drive, the 7000 block of Hwy 31, and the 100 block of Tillou Andrus Drive.

In one of the burglaries, a male suspect is seen wearing a back pack entering one of the vehicles around 1:00 am.

Stolen in the burglaries was more than $500 in cash, a AK-47 Mini Drako grey in color with a tan front hand grip, and a GEN 5 Glock 9mm grey in color.

In all three cases the vehicles were left unlocked and one vehicle had a purse left in plain view. A total loss of value was listed at more than $2,000 dollars.

Law enforcement reminds you to lock your vehicles, remove all valuables especially firearms from inside, and do not leave anything of value in plain sight.
