St. Landry Crime Stoppers is asking for help from the public in solving a shooting in the city of Eunice.

On August 20, 2020, just after 11:30 pm, officers were dispatched to shots being fired on Benoit Street, according to Deputy Chief Eddie Thibodeaux, spokesperson for the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office. Shortly after, a caller notified the Sheriff's Office that her house in the 400 block of Corn Street was struck by bullets. The victim stated that she and her family were watching TV when she heard gunshots outside of her residence. During the shooting, the mother had to make her children lay on the floor until the police arrived.

Officers observed her Trailblazer's passenger side window had been shot and two bullet holes were located on the west side of her home. Officers also located a total of 13 9mm casings at the scene, Thibodeaux stated. One bullet was located in the living room where the family was watching TV.
