St. Landry Crime Stoppers and Chief Deon Boudreaux of the Port Barre Police Department need your help in solving a murder in the town of Port Barre.

On August 9, 2020, just after midnight, Port Barre police responded to a shots fired call in the 300 block of Bayou Drive.

Police arrived on scene but were unable to locate any victims or suspects.

Shortly afterward, a local hospital reported that they were treating two juvenile gunshot victims. When police arrived at the hospital, they were notified that the 16-year-old had succumbed to his injuries. Police were able to speak to the 17-year-old victim who stated he, the 16-year-old, and two others were on their way to a party at the American Legion Hall in Port Barre when an unknown vehicle drove up behind them and started shooting.

They immediately drove to the hospital to seek medical attention.
