The St. Landry Crime Stoppers is asking for help solving a theft.

On May 11, 2019, deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Abby Lane in Opelousas for a theft of a four-wheeler. The owner reported that at 4:48 am they woke hearing their ATV pass by their house. The owner proceeded outside and observed his lawnmower was moved from under the canopy and noticed his 2012 Honda Foreman 500 4×4 was stolen.

The ATV has a crack on the right rear fender, 14-inch black and chrome SS rims with Swamp Light tires, and has a two-inch lift. Video footage captured an unknown subject pushing the lawnmower out from underneath the canopy but it was too distorted due to a birds nest. The ATV can be seen leaving the rear of the property heading towards Abby Lane.

Crime Stoppers reminds homeowners to service their camera systems periodically to make sure there are no obstructions in view.

The total loss of value was over $3500 dollars.
