UPDATE: Burglary suspect arrested

UPDATE: The suspect is in custody. According to a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, 21-year-old Brayton Galentine was located in New Iberia.

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office needs help from the public in locating a Lafayette man who is wanted for a burglary that occurred in the St. Martinville area.

On Wednesday, January 9, 2019, deputies responded to the 7000 block of Main Hwy. for reports of a residential burglary and a vehicle theft. Deputies later identified the suspect to be Brayton J. Galentine, 21.

Galentine is wanted for:

  • One count of simple burglary (felony)
  • One count of theft above $5,000 but under $25,000.00 (felony)
  • One count of simple arson (felony)
