St. Landry Crime Stoppers is asking for help in solving an attempted burglary which led to the death of a Eunice man.

On December 27, 2018 officers responded to the 500 block of Juanita St. in Eunice for a report of shots being fired. When officers arrived, they located the homeowner, 54-year-old Scott Daville,  suffering from a gunshot wound. According to the evidence, it is believed that he surprised the suspects who were attempting to steal his vehicle from his driveway. Daville died Friday morning after succumbing to injuries he sustained.

The suspect vehicle is a grey or light-colored compact car with multiple suspects inside. Detectives are asking citizens to review their home security cameras between the hours of 12 am and 7 am on the morning of December 27 for any vehicles fitting the description or suspicious persons walking in yards or on the street.
