The Frog Festival is hopping.

Join us on GMA Thursday, May 9, as we hit the road, bringing you all you need to know about the Rayne Frog Festival.

This year the grand parade will happen April 9th instead of Sunday afternoon. The festival coordinators made the change so they could take advantage of the cooler evening temperatures and make Saturday more open to other events.

It costs $1.00 to get into the festival on Thursday. Friday and Saturday’s admission is $10.00. Children 12 & under get in free.

If you go to the festival hungry on Saturday, the chefs have you covered. There will be frog dishes prepared in the adult’s cook-off. In the kid’s competition, amateur chefs will be making side dishes and desserts. It costs $10.00 for a bracelet to sample the dishes.

You can burn off those extra festival food calories at the waltz dance competition. That’s happening on Friday at 6:30 p.m. On Saturday, the zydeco dance contest will start at 3:00 p.m. while Keith Frank & The Zydeco Band play on the main stage. It’s free to join, but you must register beforehand on the festival grounds.

Saturday will be jam-packed with festivities, including the Frog Derby, golf tournament, Froggie Fashion Show, frog racing, and frog-leg eating contest. To see a full list of those events, click here.
