ST. LANDRY PARISH — One person is dead following an alleged robbery in St. Landry Parish.
Opelousas police say they were called to the 400 block of W. Landry Street in Opelousas shortly after midnight.
They say the victim was armed when he opened a door where a card game was being played. Witnesses report that the victim told the people in the room to "give it up."
A shot was then fired, leaving the person dead.
One person is in police custody for questioning.
