ACADIA PARISH, La. — State Police are investigating a fatal ATV crash that left a teen dead.
On April 11, 2026, shortly after 8:00 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 95 near Wikoff Cove Drive in Acadia Parish. The crash claimed the life of 17-year-old Hayden Castille of Branch.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2005 Honda TRX90 ATV was traveling north on LA Hwy 95, according to investigators. At the same time, a vehicle was also traveling north on LA Hwy 95 and approaching the ATV from the rear.
For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle struck the rear of the ATV, causing it to overturn and eject Castille. At the time of the crash, the ATV did not have lights illuminated, according to police.
Castille sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was not properly restrained and reported no injuries. Routine toxicology samples were collected from the driver and
submitted for analysis.
This crash remains under investigation.
