The Acadiana Chapter of the Safari Club International, a group that protects hunting freedoms and promotes wildlife conservation, donated to two charities feeding the community on Friday.
A $10,000 check was presented to FoodNet Food Bank and St. Joseph's Diner, two charities of Catholic Charities of Acadiana.
"30% of individuals in our community are one missed paycheck away from a housing crisis," said Richard Kennedy, local SCI chapter Chairman. "Today's contribution to St Joseph Diner and FoodNet reflects the humanitarian spirit of our local members and their desire to be a part of the solution moving forward. We applaud the work of Catholic Charities of Acadiana and invite other organizations to join us in supporting their relief efforts for those impacted by COVID-19."
A donation of $5,000 will go to each group for their continued efforts in feeding and assisting those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
