Video shows the moment four good Samaritans pulled a woman from a burning vehicle on Airline Highway on Monday morning.

According to WBRZ, the crash happened at around 7:00 am on the highway near LA 54 in St. John the Baptist Parish.

Officials say the 41-year-old Prairieville woman was stopped at a traffic light in Garyville when she was rear-ended by a drunk driver at a high speed. The vehicle caught fire as a result of the collision.

Using a fire extinguisher, rescuers were able to break the glass of the driver side window and pull the woman out of the vehicle. The woman was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

The man who caused the crash, identified by State Police as 22-year-old Richard Preston, was also taken to the hospital with injuries. He was released shortly after and booked into jail on charges of DWI and felony negligence.
