Kendria LaFleur

Kendria LaFleur is a native from Ville Platte, La and earned her Mass Communication degree with honors at McNeese State University in December 2014. She previously interned at FOX 29 News Express, a local Fox affiliated News station in Lake Charles, La where she served as a junior reporter. In the Summer of 2014, Kendria was an intern for Louisiana’s Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne where she worked with the communications department. As an intern, she helped contribute to some of Louisiana’s biggest events, and encouraged others to travel to our unique state.

In her free time, Kendria enjoys volunteering and contributing to the non-profit youth empowerment and mentoring organization, The Teen Diaries Foundation. The organization’s initiative aims to inspire and prepare young women for careers in journalism, by providing mentoring programs as well as various empowerment events across the nation.

Kendria was crowned Miss Lake Charles USA in 2014. As Miss Lake Charles USA, Kendria served as an ambassador for the city and volunteers throughout the community, using her title to raise awareness on various topics such as Breast Cancer Awareness, Bullying Prevention and Awareness, and Youth Empowerment .
