Jamie Angelle is a reporter for KATC TV3. He joined the team in August 2019.
Angelle was born and raised in St. Martin Parish and he graduated from Breaux Bridge High School in 1997. Jamie later attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he studied mass communication. Jamie graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Saint Leo University in Tampa, Florida. He also has an Associates Degree in Spanish from the Defense Language Institute and is currently pursuing an additional Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology from Mississippi State University.
During his time at UL he also previously worked at KATC-TV 3 as the assignment editor and news producer. He later became a reporter at a Lake Charles television station and also did freelance print reporting. During his early career, Jamie covered a variety of national level events including the crash of the space shuttle Columbia and Hurricane Lili.
In 2004, Jamie decided to leave the news business and joined the United States Army as an Intelligence Analyst. During his military career, he served in various locations including Colombia, Mexico City, and a tour in Baghdad, Iraq. After 13 years of serving his country he was medically retired in early 2017 and decided to return home to southwest Louisiana. Jamie was the morning show anchor and forecaster at the NBC and FOX affiliate in Lafayette prior to his return to KATC.
Jamie is married and has three beautiful and energetic daughters keeping him busy when he's not at work. He and his family also have three cats and two dogs who were all rescued. In his spare times he loves working on DIY projects around the house and is very passionate football fan.
