The Krewe of Carnivale en Rio rolled tonight kicking off the Mardi Gras festivities in Lafayette.

"It's the first and the first is always the best," says one parade goer.

The Krewe of Rio parade is the biggest in Lafayette with 23 floats and over 650 riders and plenty of throws to go
