A man wanted in connection with a stabbing Friday night in Lafayette was shot and killed by a Lafayette Police Officer.

That officer pulled the driver over on the Evangeline Thruway and when he approached the vehicle, police say 46 year old Anthony Sonnier backed up and hit the officer.
