    An area of disturbed weather east of Belize was upgraded to the second tropical depression of the Atlantic Season Monday. TD#2 was located near the Belize coastline and will make landfall overnight.

    Tropical Depression #2 has formed over the extreme western part of the Caribbean Sea along the coast of Belize.    As of 10am the depression was located at 16.2N 87.6W or about 60 miles east of the coast of Belize.  Winds are 35mph and it is moving WNW at 13 mph.

    #2 should continue on a track toward the coast and should be inland later tonight.  The depression may cross over the Yucatan before emerging in the Bay of Campeche later this week.

    It has been a busy day in the Weather Lab Thursday as a few severe storms moved their way through Acadiana. Storms that formed just north of I-10 Thursday afternoon quickly moved south and produced some strong winds and small hail through out south Louisiana.

    Tropical Storm Andrea is still churning toward the Florida Gulf Coast.  Winds are still sustained at 60mph with higher gusts.  The track is still moving NNE at 14mph and should approach the Florida coast later tonight.  No impact on our Acadiana weather.
