NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Louisiana's warm, wet winter wasn't so hot for winter wheat. LSU AgCenter agronomist Ed Twidwell says the figures aren't all in but it looks like a fair harvest, rather than a great one. He says yields probably will be 70 to 80 percent of last year's.... more » -

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU AgCenter expert Steve Harrison says Louisiana's wheat acreage could easily double this year from the 150,000 acres planted last year, because prices are up substantially.
