Opelousas Child Drowns Over Weekend

VINTON, La. (AP) - Authorities say 12-year-old boy from Opelousas apparently drowned in Vinton over the weekend. Witnesses told Vinton police that Joseph Staton disappeared from a party Saturday and was found floating in swimming pool. Staton was pronounced dead at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital.
