It started out as an average school day Tuesday, but some Lafayette teachers got a pleasant surprise. The Lafayette Education Foundation sent volunteers to tell teachers they have been nominated for the 2010 Teacher Awards.

The Bailey's 17th Annual Thanksgiving Lunch took place Thursday.

The Lafayette Parish Girl Scouts have collected at total of 1, 285 pairs of shoes which, according to Brent Barkin, Vice-President of Shoe Station, is more than all 17 combined stores across the nation.
