Rabies Confirmed in South West Louisiana Horse

JENNINGS, La. (AP) - Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain says a Jefferson Davis Parish horse has been confirmed to have rabies. The horse, a 6-year-old thoroughbred mare from the Jennings area, was taken to LSU's veterinary school in Baton Rouge on June 27 after exhibiting abnormal facial twitching symptoms.
