    PLAQUEMINE, La. (AP) - Plaquemine police are investigating the city's first homicide of 2010. Police Capt. Kenny Payne says that 31-year-old Cordies Gales of Plaquemine was shot to death Sunday after getting into a fight over a gambling game. Payne said police were questioning several witnesses Sunday night.
  • Forked Island Man Accused In Plaquemine Murder

    A Forked Island man is accused of killing a man in Plaquemine. 25-year-old Channing Paul Touchet allegedly shot 17-year-old Jamarius Riley. Media reports say Touchet might have mistaken Riley for someone else. The teenager was walking home from his job at a local grocery store when he was killed.
