This morning at 8 am, the Bonnet Carre spillway by New Orleans will be opened diverting water from the Mississippi into Lake Ponchartrain. Closer to home the Morganza Spillway, up in Pointe Coupee Parish will likely open Thursday allowing for increased flow from the Mississippi into the Atchafalaya River. more » -
