No one is hurt in a Sunday afternoon house fire in Lafayette.
The flames broke out around 12:30 in the 100-block of Orleans Street. It took firefighters about 15 minutes to contain the blaze. Investigators say a pot left unattended on the kitchen stove sparked the fire.

Winds gave firefighters a hard time putting out a fire in Saint Mary Parish Sunday.
Flames broke out Sunday afternoon at an office building on South Degravelle Road in Amelia. The building houses "Diamond Services"---an oilfield service company.

The Kaplan Fire Department is investigating a fire that broke out Saturday morning.
It started at around one am at West 10th and North Wilson Avenue. The structure was an abandoned building and no one was hurt. It's unclear what caused the fire.
