The former Executive Director of the Church Point Housing Authority is facing embezzlement charges. Sarah Robert resigned from her position a year ago. According to court documents, Robert embezzled almost 200 thousand dollars. The theft allegedly starting back in January of 2009.

The city of Church Point is also having second thoughts about its newly enacted walking curfew. Church Point just issued a proclamation a few weeks ago, imposed testing the walking curfew for two months.

Lechia Arcenaux said as a proud veteran, her father Herman Guidry's last wish was to have military honors at his funeral. A request which was denied by the commander at the Churchpoint American Legion Post.

A house fire yesterday around 7:30pm in Church Point. It happened between the 100 and 200 block of Emar Drive.
Crews say the home was engulfed in flames when they arrived and they are calling it a total loss. No one was home when the fire started.

Double devastation for a Church Point group that serves the community.

Louisiana First Lady Supriya Jindal spoke to students at Richard Elementary in Church Point. The school received the Award of Interactive Technology.
