Lafayette police dept. conducted an OWI check point located in the 3900 block of West Congress Street. During the course of the operation 629 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, and of thoes vehicles 14 drivers were stopped for secondary testing. Lafayette Police officers and Lafayette Sheriff's deputies will be looking for drunk drivers and anyone driving under the influence of other dangerous substances. On March 25, 2010, Louisiana State Police Troop I will conduct a safety checkpoint within Evangeline Parish.
