Soldering copper caused a fire in Ile Des Cannes Apartment Complex late Wednesday night. The Scott Fire Department is investigating an apartment fire that broke out just before nine this morning. It happened at 106 D Berlin. Firefighters tell us "several different points of orgin were observed" by firefighters, so the Lafayette Fire Department Arson Investigators were contacted. CHALMETTE, La. (AP) Chalmette firefighters say three apartment buildings caught fire leaving more than 2 dozen families homeless.
