The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office says that the individuals wanted for questioning in connection with a death on Jake Lane in Mamou freely turned themselves into the department.

Deputies say that Shannon Ardoin and Regina Grant freely surrendered themselves for questioning and provided written statements in reference to the death which occurred on May 14. Neither Ardoin or Grant were charged, according to deputies, and were released after questioning.

Deputies say that only one person has been arrested during the investigation. That person was arrested on drug charges unrelated to the death.

Deputies are still investigating the death of Charles N. Reed of Mamou who was found deceased on Jake Lane on May 14. Deputies say they have yet to determine the cause of death and that autopsy results are still pending.
