Acadia Police Jury renews membership with Acadiana Planning Commission

Posted: Updated:

The Acadia Police Jury has voted to renew membership with Acadiana Planning Commission.

The vote comes after some members raised concerns that the commission did not serve the interests of Acadia Parish. The police jury will remain as part of the commission on a condition to leave the group should they feel the Acadiana Planning Commission continues to support political causes.

According to the Crowley Post Signal, membership costs Acadia Parish more than $10,000 annually.

The APC was formed to the plan the future of Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, and Vermilion Parishes.
