FoodNet food bank kicks off 100 food item challenge

Posted: Updated:

For the 4th summer, FoodNet Food Bank is asking businesses and organizations to participate in their 100 food item challenge.

As you can guess from the name, FoodNet wants groups to collect at least 100 items and donate them to the food bank.

Summer is the busiest time for FoodNet as kids are out of school and electric bills are on the rise. Thus, the food bank sees an increase in the number of people needing assistance to make it to the end of the month, especially those on fixed incomes.

The purpose of the challenge is to ensure that their facility can remain stocked throughout the summer and help provide food to everyone that needs it.

FoodNet Food Bank hopes to collect 10,000 pounds of food by the end of August.
