We have new information tonight about a body found in St. Landry parish over the weekend

Deputies have not yet confirmed the victim's identity, but family members tell us it was Simone Robin, 19, of Catahoula. We're told she was identified using tattoos and fingerprints.

The body was discovered after St. Landry Parish deputies responded to an ATV accident along Spillway Road this weekend. They said she was wrapped in a bloody blanket.

Meanwhile, the State Fire Marshal's Office says Robin's home on Bayou Mercier Road in the Catahoula community was set on fire over the weekend. The man accused of setting it is Brandon Boutte, 25, of Kinder. He's been booked with arson.

The fire was set Saturday afternoon. Robin's body was found Saturday night.

A press release from the Fire Marshal said they were called Saturday afternoon to assist the Catahoula Fire Department in determining the origin and cause of a fire at a home in the 1100 block of Bayou Mercier Road. Investigators discovered several points of origin throughout the structure along with a large, plastic gas can in a bedroom closet.

Later in the evening, when Boutte was interviewing with St. Martin Parish Sheriff's deputies in relation to one of their cases, and allegedly admitted to setting the structure on fire.

There's no word yet if Boutte is connected to Robin's death.

Robin's twin sister Samantha, said she is just looking for answers after losing her other half.

"She will never get the chance to have children or raise a family. She will never get the chance to do any of the things she wanted to in life. She will never have any of that," Samantha Robin said.

Her sister said she was in a polygamous relationship and she believes her lifestyle had something to do with her death.

We've reached out to the Coroner, and to deputies in St. Martin and St. Landry parishes. We haven't been able to get any updates on this story since the body was discovered Saturday night.

Robin's aunt Anna Robin said Simone was in an abusive relationship for a long time, and she has contacted authorities about the abuse in the past.

"He was trying to control her mentally and verbal abuse. He wanted her to roll over and play dead like a dog. Whatever he wanted is what she should have done, and Simone was not one to be controlled," Anna Robin said.

The family is faced with not just grief, but frustration with the investigation.

"He has been saying he has to come to meet with us. Every time I call he says he doesn't have time to talk but he is going to meet up with us. We still haven't heard anything from the Sheriff's department.
