DOTD announced on Wednesday that Grand Point Highway in Henderson has reopened in both directions after construction was completed on the I-10 overpass that spans the roadway.

The roadway was initially expected to reopen on Thursday, June 14, but construction was completed a day earlier. The work on the I-10 overpass is related to the $54.7 million I-10 widening project that began back in July 2017.

According to DOTD, LA 347 (Grand Point Highway) north and southbound under the I-10 overpass in Henderson will be closed on Monday, June 11 until Thursday, June 14 as crews work to install bridge deck pans and finish other bridge work.

DOTD says the work is related to the $54.7 million I-10 widening project which began in July of 2017.

The closure will take place at night from 7:00 pm until 5:00 pm during those nights.

All northbound traffic will be detoured to I-10 eastbound to LA 3177 (Atchafalaya River Highway) in Butte La Rose to I-10 westbound to LA 347 northbound.

Southbound traffic will detour to I-10 westbound to La 328 (Rees Street) in Breaux Bridge to I-10 east and then to LA 347 southbound.

The project includes replacing pavement on I-10 in both directions from LA 347 to the foot of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.
