Man wanted in connection with St. Martinville homicide turns self in

St. Martinville Police Chief Rickey Martin says that the suspect wanted in connection with the homicide on West Bridge Street has been arrested. 

Police say the Jaqualin Henry, who was wanted by the department on charges of First-Degree Murder, has turned himself in. 

Henry was arrested and booked on charges of first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Chosen Washington on May 9. 

The department announced the arrest of a second suspect, Tradell Demouchet, in connection with the shooting earlier this morning.

    A state judge sentenced a Lafayette man to seven years in prison for his conviction on a cruelty to a juvenile charge. Riad Adnan Qarib was found guilty of the charge by a jury in January.  Qarib was accused of allowing his girlfriend's five-year-old son to inhale heroin from a hookah while in his care and custody. The Department of Child and Family Services received the report and contacted the Lafayette Police Department who investigated the allegations, reported Stutes. ...
