This is the eighth home that Bryan and Sylvia McLain have built for St. Jude. It is the biggest one to date.
"Last year was the first year that we got the house paid for so we needed another challenge," Bryan McLain said. "We needed a bigger house so we could see how much more money we could raise to go to St. Jude."
"Bryan was a 'Zero Hero' last year which meant we sold out on all of our tickets," Sylvia McLain said. "We had no cost to St. Jude on the Dream Home because we got everything paid for."
While the home is a huge undertaking, Bryan and Sylvia said they would not have it any other way.
"It never gets old," Bryan said. "You go walk those halls....it never gets old."
The home is located in Grand Pointe subdivision off of E. Broussard Road in Lafayette. It is worth $650,000 and has four bedrooms, three and a half baths, a wine room, pool, and outside shower just to name a few features of the home.
"When you walk in the front door you've got kitchen, living room, pool out the back door, there's a half bath back there," Sylvia explained. "The master suite is to the right side of the house with a laundry room. On the left side of the house is the guest room and stairwell that takes you upstairs to two more bedrooms and another living area. That's the layout of the house---it's a big house."
